MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys tennis team finally kicked off its 2022 season on Tuesday as it defeated Eau Claire North 5-2 in a nonconference dual Tuesday at the Boson Tennis Complex.
Marshfield swept the four singles matches, with Ryan Paulman losing just one game at No. 1, Kai Rens losing only twice at No. 3, and Chase Hinson picking up his first varsity win at No. 4. Dillon Scheuer won the closest singles match, needing three sets to top Dominic Yang 7-5, 4-6, 10-4.
Marshfield’s No. 3 doubles team of Ian Sennholz and Corbin Krueger posted the team’s other win, 6-2, 6-3.
Marshfield will open its Wisconsin Valley Conference season with matches at Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday and Wausau East on Friday.
