Marshfield softball drops first game of the season at Chippewa Falls

CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield softball team dropped its first game of the season, losing a nonconference game at No. 6-ranked Chippewa Falls 6-1 on Monday.

Hannah Aldrich picked up the win for Chippewa Falls (11-0).

Sandy Costa took the loss for Marshfield (5-1).

Hannah Aldrich earned the win for the Cardinals, scattering eight hits while striking out eight.

Madalen Bornbach hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for Marshfield’s only run. Brookly Bohman and Shylah Brogan each had two hits for the Tigers.

Marshfield will play a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at D.C. Everest on Tuesday. The two teams are tied for first place in the conference with 3-0 records.
