MARSHFIELD – Madalen Bornbach homered in both ends of a doubleheader as Marshfield swept Holmen 9-3 and 16-1 in nonconference softball Friday at Madison Field.
Shylah Brogan and Sandy Costa each had three hits, and Bornbach had a double, a homer and three RBI in the opening game for Marshfield.
Costa picked up the win, allowing three runs in four innings.
In Game 2, Courtney Donahue threw a four-inning complete-game three-hitter with five strikeouts to pick up the win for the Tigers.
Bornbach hit another homer and scored three times, Loryn Jakobi went 4-for-4 with three RBI, and Costa picked up three more hits and scored twice for Marshfield, which improves to 10-1.
Marshfield returns to Wisconsin Valley Conference action Monday at Wausau West.
