AUBURNDALE – Wisconsin Rapids Assumption ripped out 22 hits and scored in six of its seven at-bats as it rolled to an 18-8 win over Auburndale in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Friday at Auburndale High School.
Ava Schill went 5-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI, and Anna Schooley had four hits, including a home run, and scored four runs to lead the Royals, who remain undefeated at 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Marawood South.
Schill also earned the win in the circle for Assumption, striking out 10 in a complete game.
Claire Nelson added three hits, including a home run, and drove in three, and Cristin Casey also had three hits and three RBI for the Royals.
Erin Griesbach had a home run and scored four times, and Mya Krings also smacked a homer and scored three runs for Auburndale (1-6, 0-5 Marawood South).
Assumption plays at Marathon on Monday and Auburndale returns to action Tuesday with a home game against Stratford.
