Columbus Catholic baseball stays undefeated with win at Neillsville

NEILLSVILLE – Cole Timmer drove in three runs with a pair of hits to lead the Columbus Catholic baseball team to a 7-2 win over Neillsville in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Monday at Neillsville High School.

The Dons remain undefeated this season, improving to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Neillsville, on the other hand, stays winless as it falls to 0-5 and 0-4 in conference play.

Emmitt Konieczny went 3-for-4 and Cy Becker drove in two runs for the Dons.

Blake Jakobi picked up the win, giving up two runs in 5 2/3 innings with three strikeouts and three walks.

Columbus Catholic plays at Loyal on Tuesday and Neillsville is off until Thursday when it hosts Loyal.
