Greenwood pulls past Spencer baseball

SPENCER – Greenwood scored seven times in the first four innings and went on to defeat Spencer 7-4 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Thursday at Spencer High School.

Xander Hinker had two hits and scored twice, and Fletcher Bredlau had two hits and two RBI in the win for Greenwood (5-2, 4-1 Cloverbelt East).

Kaiden Miller and Madden Prybylski each had RBI singles in the first inning for Spencer (3-8, 2-3 Cloverbelt East).

The Rockets added two more runs in the third, but that would be at as Hinker and Mason Learman shut the door over the final four innings.

Reed Knecht had two doubles, and Miller, Prybylski and Jace Zahn all added two hits apiece for the Rockets, who had 12 hits in all.

Greenwood hosts Owen-Withee and Spencer will be at home for a doubleheader against Loyal on Firday.
