MARSHFIELD – Neillsville pitcher Delaney Rochester held Columbus Catholic to just three hits in a complete-game shutout as the Warriors won 10-0 in five innings in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Friday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
Emma Moseley hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to help finish off the win via the 10-run rule for Neillsville.
The Warriors improve to 9-2 overall and stay in first place in the Cloverbelt East at 9-1. Columbus Catholic falls to 5-8 and 3-4 in the conference.
Akousa Yeboah took the loss for Columbus, finishing with two strikeouts and six walks.
Both teams return to action Tuesday for Cloverbelt East contests. Neillsville will host Spencer and Columbus Catholic travels to Owen-Withee. Both games start at 5 p.m.
