AUBURNDALE – Auburndale had 13 hits, including six doubles, in just three innings and blasted Prentice 18-1 in a nonconference softball game Friday at Auburndale High School.
The Eagles scored nine times in the opening inning, added seven more in the second and two in the third to earn the win in a game shortened to 3½ innings due to the 15-run rule.
Ashlyn Grimm had three hits and five RBI, Hope Schulte had four RBI, and winning pitcher Taylor Anderson had a single, a double and three RBI to lead the way for Auburndale (4-6).
Anderson struck out six and gave up just one hit in four innings to earn the win.
Auburndale plays a nonconference at Colby/Abbotsford on Monday at Colby High School.
