WESTBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team extended its winning streak to 10 with a pair of victories at the Westby Triangular on Saturday.
Columbus Catholic held off Westby 13-10 and came from behind to defeat Fennimore 8-6 to stay perfect on the season at 10-0.
Grant Olson went 4-for-5 with two RBI, Emmitt Konieczny and Blake Jakobi each had three hits and an RBI, and Nathan Nemitz had two hits and drove in three for the Dons in the opening game against Westby (10-5).
Columbus built a 9-0 lead before Westby chipped away and plated five runs in the bottom of the seventh before the Dons got out of the jam.
Sam Wilczek had a two-run home run, Konieczny picked up three more hits, and Cole Timmler had two hits and three RBI in the victory over Fennimore (10-7).
Nemitz picked up the win for the Dons, going four innings and allowing just one run with two strikeouts.
Columbus Catholic plays at Owen-Withee on Tuesday.
