COLBY – The Auburndale softball team won its fourth-straight game, defeating Colby/Abbotsford 10-1 in a nonconference game Monday at Colby High School.
The Eagles scored four times in the first inning and rolled to the victory.
Ashlyn Grimm threw a complete game three-hitter with nine strikeouts and just one walk, and had a single, a double and two RBI at the plate for Auburndale (5-6).
Samantha Stanton went 3-for-5 and scored twice, Mya Krings had two doubles and two runs scored, and Kimmie Lundgren also had a pair of RBI for the Eagles.
Auburndale will host a Marawood Conference South Division doubleheader Tuesday. The Eagles will play Marathon at 4 p.m. and Wausau Newman Catholic following that contest.
Colby/Abbotsford returns to Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Tuesday at Loyal/Greenwood.
