NEILLSVILLE – Delaney Rochester tossed a five-inning two-hit shutout as the Neillsville softball team cruised to a 10-0 win over Spencer in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday at Neillsville High School.
Neillsville stays in a first-place tie with Loyal/Greenwood, a 10-5 winner over Colby/Abbotsford on Tuesday, atop the Cloverbelt East standings at 10-1 with just one conference game remaining.
Neillsville will play at Spencer on Thursday, and Loyal/Greenwood will wrap up its Cloverbelt East schedule at Gilman on Friday.
Rochester struck out two and walked one, allowing just two singles to Emma Nieman and Berklie Ireland.
Neillsville scored in all five of its at-bats, smashing five doubles. Callie Mohr was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Emma Moseley had two hits and three RBI to pace the Warriors (10-2 overall).
Spencer falls to 1-13 overall and 1-9 in conference play. After the game with Neillsville on Thursday, the Rockets will finish their conference schedule at Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Friday.
