WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids scored in the 2nd minute and added three more goals before halftime on its way to a 5-0 win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls soccer game Thursday at Washington Field.

Wisconsin Rapids improves to 7-4-2 overall and 7-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Marshfield falls to 9-7 and 5-4 in conference play.

Ella Bruns scored 1:50 into the game, and Kate Schaefer, Abby Gost and Emma Schillinger added goals in a 15-minute span later in the half to push the Raiders to a 4-0 lead.

Bruns added another goal in the 46th minute to finish off the scoring.

Marshfield was held to two shots on goal, both saved by Wisconsin Rapids goalie Chelsea King.

Ava Sainterme had four saves in goal for Marshfield.

Wisconsin Rapids will play at Merrill on Friday, while Marshfield will compete at the D.C. Everest Invitational on Saturday.
