WISCONSIN DELLS – Marshfield combined for eight wins and eight runner-up finishes as it swept the teams titles, and won the meet’s Sportsmanship Award, at the Wisconsin Dells Track Invitational on Friday at Wisconsin Dells High School.
The Marshfield girls won three events to take the team title with 148 points, well ahead of second-place Sauk Prairie, which had 115.
The Marshfield boys won five events to rack up 137.5 points, with Ripon second with 109 at the nine-team meet.
Earning wins for the Marshfield girls were the 800-meter relay team of Olivia Page, Ellie Jensen, Emma Ridgway and Ashley Grancorvitz (1:51.66), Sophie Nikolay in the pole vault (9-0), and Ridgway in the high jump (5-2).
Page was second in the 100 (13.10), Meghan Jaeger took second in the 800 (2:34.17), Aubri Brown was second in the discus (118-5) and third in the shot put (34-10), Dani Minsaas finished second in the high jump (5-0) and Grancorvitz was runner-up in the long jump (15-11) for the Tigers.
Luke LeMoine won the 200 (23.35), Graham Lonsdale was victorious in the 800 (2:01.05), Carson Kvernen won the 300 hurdles (42.45), James Ketterer took first in the triple jump (41-4.5) and the 1,600 relay team of Trevor Foemmel, Jesse Messmann, Ketterer and Kvernen won in 3:42.00 for the Marshfield boys.
Foemmel was second in the discus (129-9), Ketterer was runner-up in the 400 (53.58), and the 800 relay team of LeMoine, Jeffery Marsh, Trey Parr and Joshua Schaefer was second in 1:36.54 as well for Marshfield.
