PLOVER – Stevens Point Pacelli scored multiple runs in its final four at-bats to pull past Marshfield Columbus Catholic 9-3 in a nonconference baseball game Friday afternoon at Memorial Park.
Columbus led 2-0 after two innings before Pacelli plated three runs in the third inning to pull ahead.
The Cardinals tacked on two runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to win going away.
Brock Bennington had three hits and an RBI, and Cole Timmler and Grant Olson each had two hits for Columbus Catholic (15-2). The Dons had eight hits and were walked eight times, but couldn’t take advantage of they scored just three runs.
Ben Haemmerle earned the win for Pacelli (18-3), going 6 2/3 innings with two strikeouts.
Brycen Cashin had a triple, a home run and drove in three runs as Pacelli had 12 hits in all. Peyton Flees also had two RBI for the Cardinals.
Columbus Catholic will finish its regular-season schedule at Stratford on Thursday.
Pacelli plays a nonconference doubleheader at Amherst on Tuesday before playing at Athens in its regular-season finale on Thursday.
