Stratford softball rips Arcadia in WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal

ARCADIA – The Stratford softball team won its playoff opener, defeating Arcadia 9-1 in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal on Friday at Arcadia High School.

The game was moved to Arcadia due to wet conditions at Hilgemann Field in Stratford.

The Tigers (9-11) move on to a regional semifinal at No. 1 seed Prescott (17-6) on Tuesday. Arcadia finishes the season 1-17.

Laney Pankratz struck out five without a walk and scattered eight hits to pick up the win for the Tigers.

Delaney Dennee and Megan Wiese each had two hits, and Bailey Linzmaier had two RBI for Stratford.
