Stratford softball falls to top-seed Prescott in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

PRESCOTT – Prescott used a seven-run sixth inning to power past Stratford 9-2 in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Tuesday at Prescott High School.

Prescott (18-6), the top seed in the regional bracket, will host No. 4 seed Mondovi (15-2) in a regional final Thursday.

Stratford tied the game at 2-2 with a pair of runs in the fifth inning as Tessa Berg drove in both with a single.

Tigers pitcher Laney Pankratz got through the fifth before Prescott erupted for the big inning. She finished with three strikeouts and one walk, with six of the nine runs allowed unearned.

Stratford finishes its season with a 9-12 record.
