Marshfield Junior Legion baseball splits two at D.C. Everest

WESTON – The Marshfield Junior Devils Legion baseball team split a doubleheader with D.C. Everest on Friday at Simon Field, losing the opener 15-4 before winning a wild 17-13 decision in Game 2.

D.C. Everest scored 10 times in the bottom of the fourth inning to finish off Game 1 via the 10-run rule.

The hot offense continued for Everest in the second game as well, but Marshfield was able to used a nine-run third inning to pull ahead and took advantage of 11 walks to earn a split in the twinbill.

Owen Griesbach had a triple and three RBI in the opening game to lead the Marshfield offense.

The Junior Devils smacked out 11 hits in the second game, including two each from Jakob Sadowska, Madden Prybylski and Vance Kielman.

Kielman drove in four runs, and Ian Brown and Griesbach each had three RBI in the victory.

Marshfield (1-3) returns to action Sunday at home against Stevens Point for a doubleheader starting at noon at Jack Hackman Field.
