MARSHFIELD – Brandon DeSmet led five scorers in doubles figures with 22 points to lift the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team to a dominating 83-55 win over UW-Richland Center on Monday at Marauder Gym.
Marshfield led 37-23 at halftime and rolled from there, scoring 46 second-half points to win its Wisconsin Collegiate Conference opener.
Jake Scheppler added 16 points and 10 rebounds, Trevor Gorman scored 16 points, and Cullen Haldeman and Matt Klieforth each had 10 points for the Marauders (2-2 overall). Klieforth had a team-high 12 rebounds.
UW-Marshfield/Wood County hosts UW-Baraboo at 7 p.m. Dec. 1.
