STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield Junior American Legion baseball team dropped a pair of games at the Stevens Point Sixers Junior Tournament on Friday at Bukolt Park.

Marshfield lost to Middleton 3-2 and Beaver Dam 16-3 to fall to 2-6 this season.

Middleton earned a walk-off win with a run in the bottom of the seventh inning after Marshfield had rallied to tie the game in the sixth on an RBI double by Sloan Welch.

The Junior Devils scored their other run in the second inning as J Sadowska scored on a fielder’s choice ground ball from Aden Cherney.

Welch had two of Marshfield’s five hits in the loss.

Marshfield jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning against Beaver Dam, only to see the opponent scored 16 runs over the next four innings and win the game in five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Henry Zaleski and Gilbertson had RBI for the Junior Devils, who were again held to five hits.

Marshfield plays Hartland at 2:30 p.m. Saturday as the tournament continues.
