Marshfield Junior Legion drops close game to Hartland at Stevens Point Tournament

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team finished off competition at the three-day Stevens Point Junior Legion Tournament on Sunday with a tight 9-8 loss to Hartland at Bukolt Park.

The Junior Devils finish the tournament with a 1-3 record.

Hartland scored seven times in the bottom of the first inning and led 8-1 until Marshfield rallied with a seven-run inning of its own in the fifth to tie the game.

Hartland was able to squeak out a run in the bottom of the sixth and held on for the win.

Chase Robinson had two of Marshfield’s six hits and drove in two runs for the Junior Devils. Ian Brown also had two RBI in the loss.

Marshfield (3-7) plays a doubleheader at Plover on Tuesday starting at 5:30 p.m.
