MARSHFIELD – Eau Claire scored six times in the top of the first inning and were able to extend its lead late for an 18-7 win over Marshfield in American Legion baseball action Friday night at Jack Hackman Field.
After Marshfield closed to within two at 6-4, Eau Claire poured on four more runs in the fourth inning and tacked on eight in the fifth to finish off the game via the 10-run rule.
Riley Bauman had a double and a home run, and drove in three, and Logan Homolka, Ben Dietsche, Carsten Jirschele, and Cody Donahue each had two hits for Marshfield (11-8).
Marshfield hosts De Pere for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.
