WAUSAU – The Class AAA Regional 2 American Legion Baseball Tournament will be held Wednesday through Saturday at Athletic Park in Wausau as six teams vie for a spot in next week’s Wisconsin Class AAA Legion Baseball State Tournament at Sheboygan.
All six teams in the regional are from the Wisconsin Valley Legion League, which was won by Wausau this season.
The double-elimination tournament will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Marshfield (18-12) taking on Wisconsin Rapids (14-7). Plover (26-11) will battle Stevens Point (12-16) at 4 p.m., with D.C. Everest playing Wausau (21-16) in the nightcap at 7 p.m.
Three games will be held Thursday and Friday as well before the championship round on Saturday at 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. if another game is necessary.
