MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls tennis team won two of three matches at its home quadrangular meet on Tuesday at the Boson Tennis Complex at Marshfield High School.
The Tigers defeated D.C. Everest 5-2 and La Crosse Central 4-3, before losing to New Richmond 6-1.
In the win over D.C. Everest, Isabel Krueger (No. 1 singles), Ruhi Shah (No. 4 singles) and the No.2 doubles team of Sophia Morrell and Ava Paape won in straight sets, with Morrell-Paape taking a second-set tiebreaker 7-6.
The No. 1 doubles team of Danielle Minsaas and Sam Ridgway, and Lucy Luedtke at No. 2 singles need a third-set tiebreaker to win their matches for the Tigers, both winning 10-4.
Sonia Dissanayaka (No. 3 singles), Payton Koran (No. 4 singles), Morrell and Paape at No. 2 doubles, and the No. 3 doubles team of Kaci Abney and Ava Baka won matches for Marshfield against La Crosse Central.
Dissanayaka picked up Marshfield’s lone win in the loss to New Richmond, winning in straight sets at No. 4 singles.
Marshfield will compete at the Wausau West Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
