EDGAR – Auburndale won the first set but couldn’t hold off Edgar the rest of the way and dropped a hard-fought 3-1 volleyball match Tuesday at Edgar High School as all four sets were decided by two or three points.
Edgar won 22-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-23, to improve to 2-0 in the Marawood Conference South Division. Auburndale falls to 0-2.
Josie Ertl had 18 kills and 11 digs, Ashlyn Grimm had 31 assists, Brianna Weiler added nine kills and team-high 20 digs, and Sidney Wolff also had nine kills for the Eagles.
Auburndale will host Cornell, Elcho and Owen-Withee for a nonconference quadrangular meet Thursday.
