SPENCER – The Stratford football team put itself in position to play for the Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division championship next week with a dominating 41-0 win over Spencer/Columbus Catholic on Friday night at Spencer High School.
Ashton Wrensch caught six balls for 183 yards and three touchdowns, two from Braeden Schueller and another from Jack Tubbs, to pace the Stratford offense.
Schueller threw for 188 yards, and Tubbs was 4-for-4 for 61 yards in the win.
Conner Weigel had 44 yards and Koehler Kilty 41 on the ground for Stratford, which had 154 yards rushing.
The Tigers’ sixth-straight victory sets up a showdown between Stratford (6-1-1 overall) and Amherst (6-2 overall) for the CWC Large title on Oct. 14 at Marshfield High School. Both teams are 6-0 in conference play.
Spencer/Columbus remains winless at 0-8 overall and 0-6 in the conference. The Rockets finish their season at Shiocton next Friday.
