ANTIGO – Abbey Besler, Chandler Roy-Peterson and Nicole Karl each scored two goals to lift the Marshfield girls hockey team to its third straight win, an 8-0 victory over Northern Edge (Antigo/Rhinelander) on Monday.
It was the first Great Northern Conference game of the season for the Tigers, who improve to 3-0 overall.
Marshfield outshot the Edge 67-2, dominating the entire game. Both of Northern Edge’s shots on goal came in the third period.
“The girls had a nice game and were able to work on the little things to prepare for Tuesday’s game against the Badger Thunder (Baraboo),” Marshfield coach Nate Sparbel said.
Naomi Crump and Paige Johnson added Marshfield’s other two goals in the win.
Marshfield hosts Baraboo at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Marshfield Youth Ice and Recreation Arena.
