STANLEY – The Auburndale volleyball team is off to sectionals after a dominating 3-0 sweep of Stanley-Boyd in a WIAA Division 3 regional final match Saturday night at Stanley-Boyd High School.
The No. 3 seeded Eagles won 25-18, 25-15, 25-15, to move on to a D-3 sectional semifinal at No. 1 seed and Marawood Conference South Division rival Edgar on Thursday at 7 p.m. The winner moves on to a sectional final Oct. 28 against either Wittenberg-Birnamwood or Weyauwega-Fremont at Auburndale with a berth to the state tournament on the line.
Ashlyn Grimm had 30 assists and six kills, Josie Ertl had 16 kills and six digs, and Brianna Weiler had six kills and eight digs for Auburndale.
Kimmie Lundgren and Maggie Baltus also had eight digs each for the Auburndale defense.
