GREEN BAY – The 50th WIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament and 59th WIAA State Boys Volleyball Tournament concluded with five state champions being crowned Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Resch Center.
Waukesha Catholic Memorial claimed its fourth state boys title with a 3-2 victory over Hartland Arrowhead. Catholic Memorial also won titles in 2000, 2010 and 2016.
In the girls tournament, Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels on its fourth state title with a 3-2 victory over defending champion Oconomowoc. DSHA also won state titles in 2001, 2014 and 2015.
Appleton Xavier claimed its first state title with a 3-1 victory over Sauk Prairie in the Division 2 championship match.
In Division 3, Howards Grove won its fourth-straight state title with a 3-0 sweep of St. Croix Falls in the championship match. Howards Grove now has five state titles overall, also winning one in 2016.
Chippewa Falls McDonell earned its second Division 4 championship in a row, beating Monticello 3-1.
