MARATHON – Grant Warren scored 18 of his game-high 24 points in the second half to lead Marathon to a come-from-behind 58-53 win over Auburndale in the Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball opener for both teams on Tuesday at Marathon High School.
Auburndale (1-1 overall) led 23-21 at halftime before Marathon rallied to pull out the win in what was its season opener as well.
Daniel LaQua made three 3-pointers and added 13 points for the Raiders.
Caden Weinfurter was 5-for-10 from 3-point range and had 15 points to lead Auburndale. Alex Willfahrt added 12 points and Mason White Eagle scored nine for the Eagles.
Auburndale plays a Marawood crossover game Friday at Abbotsford.
