WAUWATOSA – The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield men’s basketball team suffered a hard-fought 82-74 loss to the Bryant & Stratton College JV team on the road Wednesday night.
The Marauders had a chance to close out the game in regulation and the first overtime, but some costly turnovers and clutch shooting from Bryant & Stratton extended the game.
In the second overtime after an opening basket from Prince Nde (Woodbury, Minn.), the Marauders offense fell quiet and did not score for the remainder of the game.
Coach Jared Ystad said the Marauders showed great effort and outplayed the Bobcats for the majority of the game, however they could not stay away from self-inflicting mistakes, finishing the game with 36 turnovers.
The Marauders finished the game shooting 38 percent from 3-point range and were led by Jake Skroch (Stratford), who had 23 points and nine rebounds, and Carston Freis (Marshfield), who finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Nde added nine points, six rebounds and three assists.
