Stevens Point shuts out Marshfield boys hockey

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield boys hockey team was limited to just 11 shots on goal and couldn’t find a way to score in losing its first game of the season on Thursday at K.B. Willett Ice Arena.

Gavin Dillingham and Jackson Schroeder each scored twice and goalie Hunter Christjohn saved all 11 shots in saw as Stevens Point blanked Marshfield 8-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup.

Stevens Point is now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, while Marshfield drops to 3-1 and 0-1 in conference play.

Cole Halvorsen had 38 saves for the Tigers, who were outshot 46-11 in the loss.

Marshfield hosts Wausau West for a WVC game Tuesday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.
