Big first half propels Stratford boys basketball past Prentice

PRENTICE – The Stratford boys basketball team built a 20-point lead by halftime and rolled to a 78-59 victory in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Prentice High School.

The Tigers put up 48 points in the opening half and led 48-28 at the break. Prentice outscored the Tigers by one point in the second half, but the big lead was never threatened.

Ashton Wrensch made 10 of 13 free throws and scored a team-high 25 points, and Braeden Schueller knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 19 in the victory for Stratford.

John Seitz added 12 points for the Tigers, who are now 2-0 this season.

Stratford plays a nonconference game at Spencer on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
