Stratford girls basketball holds off Marathon for second Marawood South win

STRATFORD – Tessa Berg scored 10 of her team-high 12 points in the first half, and Ella Heidmann made seven free throws in the second half to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to a 44-34 win over Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

Lexie Christopherson drilled three 3-pointers and added nine points for Stratford, which is now 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Marawood South.

Marathon falls to 2-4 and 1-3 in the conference.

Stratford hosts Athens for a Marawood crossover game Friday at 7:15 p.m.
