AUBURNDALE – Stratford won all three of its matches and Auburndale finished 2-1 at a Marawood Conference wrestling quadrangular on Thursday at Auburndale High School.
Stratford defeated Rosholt 79-6, Athens 64-18 and Auburndale 52-27, while Auburndale won its other two matches over Rosholt 66-6 and Athens 66-12.
With Athens and Rosholt having limited rosters, both Stratford and Auburndale rolled to wins due to a number of forfeits.
In the featured match between Stratford and Auburndale, matches were contested at 10 of the 14 weights.
Stratford won nine of the matches, three by forfeit and five by pin. Cayden Leonhardt (132 pounds), Ryan Becker (160), Kaleb Krummel (170), Colin Cournoyer (113) and Trenton Cournoyer (126) all won by pin for the Tigers, with Sawyer Grabow earning a 14-2 major decision at 152 pounds.
Auburndale’s Colton Weiler (145), Sloan Welch (285) and Derek Godard (106) won by pin, and Adam Dorshorst earned a hard-fought 10-6 win over Mason Oertel at 220 pounds.
Auburndale and Stratford will both compete at the Eau Claire North Invitational on Saturday.
