Marshfield girls basketball routs Wisconsin Rapids, runs winning streak to six

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield girls basketball team kept its perfect season intact, rolling to a 63-30 win over Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Lincoln High School.

The Tigers raced out to a 30-14 lead by halftime and didn’t let up, outscoring Wisconsin Rapids by 17 in the second half to finish off the victory. Marshfield forced 29 turnovers and held Wisconsin Rapids to just 32 percent shooting (10-for-31).

Nine different Marshfield players scored in the victory, with senior guard Dani Minsaas leading the way with 16 points. Zaida Kolbeck added 11 points and Ashley Grancorvitz chipped in eight.

Marshfield is now 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. The Tigers will have a week off before hosting D.C. Everest on Friday, Dec. 16, at 7:15 p.m.
