Marshfield boys basketball drops nonconference game to Kimberly

KAUKAUNA – Kimberly exploded for a 42-point second half and broke open a tight game to defeat Marshfield 71-57 in a nonconference boys basketball game at the Baird/Gustman Shootout at Kaukauna High School on Saturday afternoon.

Kimberly led 29-26 at halftime before outscoring the Tigers by 11 in the second half to pull away.

Thomas Meyers had 22 points for the Papermakers (2-2), who shot 56 percent (27 of 48) from the field.

Senior Luke LeMoine had a season-high 24 points and Brooks Hinson added 13 points for Marshfield, which falls to 2-4.

The Tigers were just 1-for-11 from 3-point range in the loss.

Marshfield will return to Wisconsin Valley Conference action Friday at D.C. Everest.
