Auburndale boys basketball pulls away in second half to beat Stratford

STRATFORD – The Auburndale boys basketball team earned its fourth-straight win as it defeated Marawood Conference South Division rival Stratford 62-48 on Tuesday at Stratford High School.

The Eagles led 26-24 at halftime before outscoring Stratford by 12 in the second half to pull away and send the Tigers to their second loss in a row.

Alex Willfahrt had 18 points, and Lucas Yeske added 12 points and 11 rebounds for Auburndale, which is now 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Marawood South. Blake Raab chipped in 11 points in the victory.

John Seitz and Ashton Wrensch each had 11 points for Stratford, which is now 3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Both teams will host Marawood South games on Friday as Stratford takes on Marathon and Auburndale plays undefeated Wausau Newman Catholic.
