Auburndale girls basketball wins second straight

COLBY – The Auburndale girls basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 41-24 nonconference win over Colby on Thursday night at Colby High School.

Kelly Tomfohrde had 12 points, Lindsay Gotz added eight and Nicole Nikolay chipped in with seven as the Apaches supplied a balanced scoring attack.

Auburndale jumped out to a big lead in the first half, leading 8-2 after the first quarter and 25-10 by halftime. The Apaches put the game away with an 8-2 run in the fourth quarter.
