STRATFORD – Stratford was held under 20 points in each half and Marathon took advantage, defeating the Tigers 60-35 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Friday night at Stratford High School.
Marathon led 26-19 at halftime and outscored Stratford 34-16 in the second half to win going away and remain undefeated this season at 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the Marawood South. Stratford, which has now lost three games in a row, is 3-3 and 1-3 in the conference.
Stratford shot just 23 percent (12 of 510 from the floor and missed 18 of 21 3-point attempts in the loss.
Ashton Wrensch scored 12 points to lead the Tigers.
Stratford plays at Edgar on Tuesday.
