Marshfield boys basketball team rolls in opener

BARABOO – The Marshfield boys basketball team whipped Baraboo 49-30 in its season-opener Friday night at Baraboo High School.

Marshfield opened up a 28-17 lead at halftime with a 13-6 run in the second quarter. The Tigers closed out the game by outscoring Baraboo 12-3 in the fourth quarter.

Cale Zuiker scored 11 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for the Tigers. Dustin Thumann added 10, Jon Bauer nine and Ian Padron eight points for Marshfield.

Josh Statz led the Thunderbirds with 10 points.

The Tigers host La Crosse Central on Tuesday in their home opener.
