MARSHFIELD – Noah Peterson scored 39 seconds into the game and the Marshfield boys hockey team continued its dominance from there, rolling to a 9-2 win over Wausau East/Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Thursday night at the Marshfield Area Ice Arena.
Peterson finished with a hat trick and three assists, Joey Cashmer added a pair of goals, and Zak Meyer, Tyler Reissmann, Tanner Shortt and Thomas Cashmer also had scores for Marshfield, which picked up its first conference win of the season.
Joey Cashmer and Owen Hoerneman each had two assists for the Tigers (7-7, 1-3 Wisconsin Valley Conference).
Marshfield will play a nonconference game at Tomahawk on Friday.
