Stratford wrestlers second at Schoenherr Multidual Tournament

STRATFORD – The Stratford wrestling team went 4-1 to finish second at the Schoenherr Multidual Tournament on Saturday at Stratford High School.

The Tigers beat Eau Claire North 60-16, Chequamegon 48-24 and Phillips 39-33 to open the tournament. Chippewa Falls, which won the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record, downed Stratford 44-30, before the Tigers rebounded with a 53-24 whipping of Mondovi.

Andrew Murdaugh went 5-0 at heavyweight, posting five pins, and Luke Radke was 5-0 at 189 pounds with three pins for the Tigers.

Jake Guyer (140, three pins), Matt Zuelke (160, one pin) and Cole Kaiser (171, three pins) were all 4-1 for Stratford.

Stratford has a dual meet at Lena on Monday and will participate in the Weyauwega-Fremont Tournament next Saturday.
