MARSHFIELD – Noah Peterson scored 2:20 into overtime to lift the Marshfield boys hockey team to a wild 7-6 win over Antigo in a nonconference matchup Tuesday at the Marshfield Area Ice Arena.
Marshfield trailed by two goals twice, only to come back each time.
After Antigo (5-7) pulled ahead 6-4 on a pair of goals in the opening six minutes of the third period, Joey Cashmer and Tyler Reissman put in goals for the Tigers to knot the game at 6-6 and send it to the extra period where Peterson won it quickly for Marshfield.
Reissman finished with three goals and three assists, Peterson scored twice and also had three assists, and Cashmer assisted on two goals as well for the Tigers, who are now 9-7 this season.
Marshfield hosts Stevens Point on Thursday in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup.
