AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team completed a season sweep of Stratford, knocking off the Tigers 50-34 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.
Annamaire Aue had 17 points for the Eagles, who won their third-straight game and is now 9-4 overall and 5-3 in the Marawood South.
Auburndale led 23-14 at halftime and was able to finish off the win by making 8 of 10 free throws in the second half. In contrast, Stratford was just 6-for-23 at the free throw line in the game.
Bailey Linzmaier led Stratford (7-7, 3-5 Marawood South) with 10 points.
Auburndale plays at first-place Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Thursday before hosting Rib Lake for a Marawood crossover game on Friday. Stratford returns to the court Friday at home against Marawood North leader Phillips.
