Stratford boys basketball tops Phillips in Marawood crossover

STRATFORD – Braden Schueller scored 16 points and Brady Schmidt nailed five 3-pointers to add 15 points as the Stratford boys basketball team downed Phillips 56-46 in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Stratford High School.

Ashton Wrensch added 14 points for the Tigers, who improve to 8-6 overall and 6-4 in the Marawood South. Phillips is now 3-11 and 1-9 in the Marawood North.

Stratford finished with eight 3-pointers and shot nearly 50 percent (21 of 44) from the field in the victory.

Stratford plays at Auburndale for a Marawood South contest Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
