WAUSAU – Stratford’s Jackson Ormond and Auburndale’s Colton Weiler earned individual titles at the 16-team Wausau East Lumberjack Wrestling Invitational on Saturday.
Winneconne won the team title with 461.5 points, with Crandon second with 417. Stratford took third with 406 points and Auburndale was sixth with 322.
Ormond (30-1) earned the 182-pound title for Stratford, which had eight top-five finishes.
Weiler (33-4) won the 132-pound championship for Auburndale. The Eagles had five others finish in the top five in their respective weight class.
Trenton Cournoyer (25-5) was second at 120 pounds and Carter Lueck (27-6) was the runner-up at 170 for Stratford.
Auburndale’s Sloan Welch (34-2) suffered just his second loss of the season as he fell to Brock Arndt (19-1) of Appleton North 7-2 in the 220-pound championship. Derek Godard (30-6) also was runner-up for the Eagles at 106 pounds.
Auburndale and Stratford will compete at the Marawood Conference Tournament at Marathon next Saturday, Jan. 28.
