CHIPPEWA FALLS – Marshfield sophomore guard Brooks Hinson made 11 of 13 shots, including 7 of 9 from 3-point range, and scored a career-high 35 points to lead the Tigers to an 80-68 nonconference win over Chippewa Falls on Tuesday night at Chippewa Falls High School.
The Tigers shot a sizzling 63 percent from the field (26-for-41) as they tied their season-high in total points and won their 10th-straight game to improve to 12-4.
Owen Hanson added 14 points and Landon Lee chipped in 10 for Marshfield, which put up 46 points in the second half to hold off the Cardinals.
Mason Monarski hit four 3-pointers and had a team-high 20 points for Chippewa Falls (6-7).
Marshfield hosts D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Friday at 7:15 p.m. Marshfield holds a 1 1/2-game lead over Everest in the WVC standings after the Evergreens’ overtime loss to Wausau East on Tuesday. The game is the first of five straight at home for the Tigers.
