WAUSAU – Five different players scored and goalie Claire Calmes saved all 18 shots she faced as the Central Wisconsin Storm shut out the Wisconsin Valley Union 5-0 in a girls hockey matchup Tuesday night at Marathon Park.

Hannah Baumann had a goal in the first period to give the Storm (14-3) all they would need.

Tristan Wicklund, Ava Rode and Ava Whitemore added goals in a six-minute span of the second period, and Sophie Bohlin added the Storm’s final goal in the closing minutes to finish off the shutout.

Grace Lawrence had 29 saves in goal for Wisconsin Valley, which has now lost eight of nine and falls to 4-15 this season.

Both teams return to action Thursday as the Union hosts the Fox Cities Stars at Waupaca and the Storm will be at Greenheck Fieldhouse at D.C. Everest High School against the Northern Edge (Antigo/Rhinelander).
