PITTSVILLE – The Auburndale girls basketball team held Pittsville to just seven points in the first half and rolled to a 48-29 nonconference win on Monday night at Pittsville High School.
The Eagles’ suffocation defense helped them build a 22-7 lead by halftime and they were able to maintain the big lead the rest of the way.
Ashlyn Grimm, Josie Ertl and Annamarie Aue each scored 10 points for Auburndale, which is now 13-5 this season after posting its third-straight win.
Auburndale hits the road again for a nonconference game at Phillips on Tuesday.
