MARSHFIELD – Brooks Hinson and Owen Hanson each scored 15 points to lead the Marshfield boys basketball team to a 58-47 win over Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday night at the Chips Hamburgers Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.
The Tigers led 24-16 at halftime and were able to grind out their 12th win in a row to remain undefeated in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Marshfield is now 14-4 overall and 8-0 in the WVC. Click here to view the Wisconsin Valley Conference boys basketball standings
Marshfield shot just 42 percent (20 of 47), but held Wisconsin Rapids to only 39 percent (18 of 46) and made 16 of 17 free throws in the victory. Hinson was a perfect 8-for-8 as he ups his season percentage to 91 percent (40-for-44).
Luke LeMoine added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Marshfield.
Cade Jungwith had 13 points, and Evan Mathews and Chase Fox each chipped in 12, with Fox going a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point range.
Both teams return to Wisconsin Valley Conference action Friday with Marshfield hosting Wausau East and Wisconsin Rapids playing at home against Wausau West.
